About the event
Special seafood bowl is included! In this session of Ask Takuya, we explore the fascinating world of Shirasu (Whitebait). During shirasu fishing, tiny squid or shrimp sometimes appear in the catch—little treasures that feel almost like a marine scavenger hunt. But these small creatures aren’t just cute surprises; they’re signs of a rich, healthy ocean. We'll also look at the bigger picture: what they tell us about the ecosystem and the marine food chain. When the base of the ecosystem pyramid is abundant, the layers above it—larger fish and other marine life—can thrive, creating a healthier and more resilient ocean food web.
Through Shirasu, Takuya will guide you into a deeper understanding of ocean biodiversity and why these small fish carry big meaning for the health of our seas.
